GUIDELINES FOR HANDLING AND PRINTING

1. Be careful not to scratch the cards when opening the packs especially if using knife or other sharp object.
2. Gloves that are free of any powder residue should be worn when handling 'Fotodeck' quality cards. Oils from your hands can transfer to the cards and may cause smudging. Fingerprints or other distortions will then appear on the cards.
3. Cards should always be handled by the edges, not on the finished surface.
4. Always check cards for noticeable debris. In some instances there may be minute pieces of vinyl on the card. If there is any residue of whatever type cards can be cleaned with 99% pure Isopropyl alcohol available from Clere Identities as bespoke cleabning cards and cleaning swabs. Anything other than 99% pure alcohol may leave other residues on the card surface.
5. The area for card production should be clean and free of airborne particles. Any dirt or debris on the card that gets into the printer may render the card unprintable and could damage the print head.
6. Check the printer rollers often. It is recommended that you clean the printer rollers every time you change a ribbon ie every 200 cards (cleaning sets are available from Clere Identities). Please clean / change the cleaning roller often.
